Welcome to my Articles page, this page is where I write down my personal thoughts and opinions on something.

Some of these are just diaries but that doesn't matter(´・ω・`)

Theres not much here yet!

Skeuomorphism 30 July (24)

Flat design has taken over the world, but honestly, it's just plain ugly. Everything looks so lifeless, like a bunch of dull, flat shapes with no personality at all. Where's the depth? Where's the realism, huh? It was so much better when app icons looked like the actual objects that they represented. For example, the calculator icon used to resemble a real calculator, with that 3D glossy look. Now, it’s all just "minimalist," ugly, and colorless blobs that are supposed to be "modern."

"Frutiger Aero" had a lot of this skeuomorphism. It was popular in the mid-2000s, with realistic textures, 3D effects, and glossy finishes that made everything feel futuristic. The style was named after the Frutiger font family. It was all about adding shadows, depth, and gloss that added a sense of quality. While some might say it’s dated, Frutiger Aero had far more character and creativity than today’s flat design trend ever will.

Another key characteristic of Frutiger Aero is the combination of futuristic, almost robotic, simple structures—like cities, computers, and weird blue orb things—with nature: freakishly bright, perfect green grass, pretty blue water, fish and butterflies. Although this doesn't really have much to do with skeuomorphism, I wanted to mention it because I think it's so creative and cool. It gives a nostalgic, almost creepy but peaceful and happy feeling, which I really like.

Normalize Appreciation! 8 June (24)

Why am I seeing so many people acting rude, and why is that so normalized?

It seems like the little things that we all should be appreciating often go unnoticed, and that's honestly kind of sad. Whether it's just someone answering your question on the internet, or a stranger at the library making space so you can have a seat, people need to realize that these small acts of kindness really do have a bigger impact than we realize. For some reason, it's like we're always waiting for something really big and highlighted to happen to feel happy or appreciated, but as we're doing so, we miss out on the everyday beauty that makes life better. This lack of recognition for the small things shouldn't be normalized—those little acts and moments are so important for a fulfilling life.

Not appreciating the small things can create a pretty toxic cycle. If people start feeling like their small gestures aren't worth anything, they might stop doing them altogether, and that's bad. I can see some of this already happening. We need to normalize showing gratitude for the little things because they matter. A simple "thank you" can make a big difference. People just need to learn how to feel some empathy or something at this point. It's these little things that hold us all together.

We all need some: "Wisdom, patience, empathy, kindness, serenity, clarity..." (Please know what I am referencing to (´・ω・`))
